Safe to fly down south? Leaving next Thursday

I am flying out of the east coast to the south for a 4 day weekend next week. The gentleman I am staying with is currently at a very large outside festivity a few states over from where he lives. He is probably getting more exposure than I possibly could. I know I will be in an enclosed area on the plane, however I really want to see him as it is very important to the both of us. Too risky to fly now? I do suffer anxiety to fly but am got a germaphobe. What do you guys think?
