41 and just got a ++

Hey everyone!  I just turned 41 in Nov. Hubby and I have 2 children ages 7 and 3 and suffered a m/c in June of this year at 10 weeks. I wanted to wait to TTC until around Feb so I would have a fall baby. Hubby and I probably only had sex maybe 3 times in the last month so I was definately not thinking anything would happen this month. We have actively tried with temping and baby dancing almost every night a few months ago and NOTHING. I was due to start Sat...I always start 10 days after O, and was expecting AF at any time. By Sunday there was still no sign of spotting so I figured what the heck, I will just try it and see...within about 30 seconds I could already see a faint 2nd line and by about 2 minutes it was very dark. I really couldnt believe it! I am now wondering...does the quickness and darkness this early have any meaning? Previously with this same exact test, at this stage of my cycle I wouldnt have seen anything until maybe about 10 minutes later!  I was kind of surprised by how quick it showed up and by jow dark it was so soon. I have also been feeling pretty strong twinges in my uterus. I know they say that older moms release more eggs and I know I am reaching but just wondered if anyone had gone thru this too!

Actually, I'm not sure now....I fell last week and then I had some spotting and twice I had some very red with very tiny clots but then it stopped and now nothing...Now I am wondering if the spotting was due to me falling on my rear and possibly everything is fine?  I had spotting maybe 3 days....very little and then twice on the tissue the dark red which made me think I was beginning to miscarry. What do you ladies think? I am going to try to get an US but I would only be 6 weeks on this coming Wed.

I am so happy for you. I started my first round of Clomid this month and I am praying that it works. I, like you had a mc in June of this year but I am hoping and praying that it happens again and soon. I just turned 41 in October but I still have my fingers crossed!!!

That's funny, because this time when I got pg, we weren't trying either.    I'd been trying for almost 2 years....had great months with many follies and great lining, but this time, I had a huge cyst on my right ovary (39 mm), and a very thin lining and my RE said....its probably not a good month.   I went home and cried and threw everything away and said "im done", I can't do this anymore.     2 weeks later I was waiting for AF to start and had every symptom that she was coming, but that morning, woke straight up in bed and thought.....test!    I was completely shocked to see those 2 dark pink lines already.   I must have stared at that test for 2 minutes before the realization hit me.

I did have the CVS testing done at 10 weeks 5 days and everything came back completely normal and healthy.   I was concerned too, but just had that "good feeling" as you say.   Its been a great pregnancy so far, everything measuring perfect, and I'm healthier now during this pregnancy than I was at 34 y/o.

Keep me informed, I'm so excited for you and will be crossing my fingers that all goes well.

Well Congrats to you too and that is some awesome news! We had a blighted ovum in 07, a chemical pregnancy in April of this year then the m/c in June. I am surprised that I am pregnant at all this month. We certainly werent trying although I was still temping just because my cycle had been all crazy after the m/c and I was starting to worry about early menopause, so I know pretty much when I ovulated. I'm not getting all worked up though. I know how these things go, although I have a good feeling about this one...which I didnt with the last one....  Did you have any testing for birth defects? Thats really the only slight concern I would have being 41.

Awesome!!! Congrats!    I'm 43 and almost 23 weeks pg.    I suffered 2 m/c's prior to this one (started trying at 41), and here I am now with a healthy little boy on the way.     My 2 m/c's were like you....very faint lines and I was about 2 - 3 days late.   this time, tested on the day AF was due and it was dark dark right away.     My beta numbers were 350 that very day and the pregnancy has been strong ever since.    My previous 2 m/c's were faint lines and low betas numbers.

I've heard healthy pregnancies coming out of low beta numbers and faint lines, but for me the dark line very early has finally meant a strong healthy pregnancy.

Good luck to you, what a wonderful christmas gift.

CONGRATS!!  I am so happy for you!!!  I would think if it is dark and early, that is a good sign.  You probably ovulated earlier than you think.  SSBD!!!
