Embryo Adoption or IVF?

Hello Everyone!

I have been reading many posts on here and help but want to give everyone a big hug. It's amazing to me just how many of us really just want to be mommies. I guess it just kinda felt like I was the only one struggling out there, if you know what I mean. Afterall, everyone around me does not seem to be having any difficulties...which I'm happy for. They are blessed.

My husband is sterile. He had stage 4 cancer in 1991 and the heavy doses of chemo left him sterile. They didn't expect him to live so I guess freezing his sperm back then didn't even cross their minds. As for myself, I will be 42 in October. I have gone through 3 IUI's. The last one in March resulted in bfp but I m/c at 10weeks. It was really hard emotionally for me....and when I read through so many of you having multiple m/c's it breaks my heart. My RE did a chromosomal analysis when he did the D&C. He said it was due to the quality of my eggs and that if we did IUI again the probability of the same thing happening is very high.

He discussed other options. IVF, donor eggs and sperm, and embryo adoption. My dilemna? Sadly, insurance does not cover anything and we will probably only be able to do one cycle of whatever we decide.

I just wanted to get feedback on what you all thought...The percentage for IVF seems so low...it scares me. Then again, embryo adoption does too because nothing is guaranteed. Has anyone adopted an embryo? Which agency did they use?

Any information any can provide would be so incredibly welcomed!

Thanks!
Maria

Melissa!
I am sooo praying for your babies' safe arrival! When are you looking at having the transfer?

I gave IUI one more try June 21st and are just waiting to see if it took. One more LONG week to go!  If not, we will be trying IVF with donor eggs/sperm....at least that is what we are thinking right now.

Please keep me posted and know my prayers are with you!

I didn't do embryo adoption but am pregnant with Twins from egg donor/ husbands sperm.
You will have very good odds if you do it this way.  I was given odds of 75% and concevd the first time.  If you have any questions, please let me  knw
