Anyone take " Pregnancy prep"?How this supplement works for you?
Thank you!
So glad to hear you're going to check out that book! When she started out trying to get herself healthy and get her FSH levels down, she was 42 and her FSH was 42! You're older than her but your FSH in a great deal lower (even though it is high, of course). Mine is MUCH higher than yours, but I still ovulate and get pregnant some how, but have been having the immune system stop all of the pregnancies. So hopefully in a couple of months, when we're on all the necessary tx, we will have a much better outcome!
I don't know WHAT is going on now! Lol! I am cramping like crazy and AF is nowhere in sight! I have stopped POAS'ing. (partly b/c I only have one test left! lol!) And I don't even want another beta. All I want is an u/s. Something weird is going on in there. It's been 7 days w/no progesterone, so something should have happened be now.
I read that some of the autoantibodies that I have (antiphospholipids and anti-Annexin V IgM ABS), can actually prevent the trophoblast from making HCG! So if that's the case, what's the point of doing a beta on me at all? Maybe there's an embie in there growing away? Who knows? And I plan to go get an immune treatment next week (the IVIg), assuming my dr will Rx it for me. Maybe there's still time to save it! Or maybe I'm dreaming! :-) All I know is that something weird is going on!
OOPS! I missed both your posts somehow...just saw it now!
@Sherri90049: Thanks for the info! You give me hope :) I'm definitely going to pick up that book. I need the inspiration! I'm still waiting for AF. tomorrow that makes me 6 weeks. I guess its all the hormones. They had me use estrogen pill as a suppository due to a thin lining (which I understand can be a result of the cloimd) and when I went for the beta 2 weeks after iui, my estrogen was sky high so now they have me on the progesterone for 10 days. Its frustrating that I haven't got AF....and I know that you're having similar issues. :( Hopefully we both have good luck soon and beat the odds!! xo
@cindylouwho514: I haven't taken the fertilaid yet -- I've been on clomid and the back of the box of fertilaid says not to use together. However -- I am pretty sure that this cycle I'm giving my body a break from the clomid so...looks like I'll be trying it.
I ordered Fertilaid for me and my husband. We had been trying for months to get pregnant. My fsh level was 9.3. I took the Fertilaid for a couple of months. He took it but did not take it as instructed. It says to take it 3 times a day, he only took 1 pill a day. He started complaining about headaches so I did not order anymore for him. Once I was done with the Fertilaid I was put on clomid and I got pregnant that cycle. I really think the Fertilaid helped.
Well, acu is used during IVF frequently, but it can help any woman with TTC issues. Re: the FSH number, please don't let them get you too hung up on that! Plenty of women have had babies with high FSH! There's a book called "Inconceivable" by Julia Indichova. She conceived in her early 40's during a cycle where her FSH was 30! (and went full-term and had a baby girl!) I highly recommend that book! Very inspiring and lots of very helpful info!
Good if you can talk to your RE before starting DHEA. It's good to get a baseline value of your estrogen, testosterone, DHEA-S, and progesterone. If those are low (or even just in the lower half of the normal range) then you would be a good candidate for DHEA supplementation. I'm taking only 25mg/day now. I think in the studies on DHEA they use up to 75mg, but I just want to take it slow. If you take too much, your testosterone levels can get too high, and that's not fun!
Hang in there! Unless you're in overt menopause, then this is totally still possible! We all have our own unique issues I have high FSH and bad immune problems) and have to figure them out, but I believe that if we want it badly enough and can be persistent enough, it can happen! :)
Thanks for the info! I was just reading about DHEA this morning. Once AF comes, I'm going to make an appt with RE and ask about using the DHEA.
BTW I heard that FSH levels fluctuate (hopefully)... I recall mine being 25 or 28, which is not good. At the time my RE told me the # a few months ago, I had no idea how important that number is.
I might look into acupuncture...I thought that was primarily used during IVF, but what the heck, its worth a try.
Thanks again-
I think Fertility Blend is supposed to be good. So is Fertil-Aid (one for men and one for women). There are a couple of things that can help women with egg issues. Wheatgrass is one natural supplement. And another promising treatment is DHEA. Not sure if you have had your FSH tested or gotten an antral follicle count. But if your FSH is elevated or AFC is low, DHEA has been shown to be effective. Not sure if I'm allowed to post the link to the study but it's a clinic in NY called Center for Human Reproduction. Here is a link: http://www.centerforhumanreprod.com/premature_ovaries.html. It's best to have all your hormone levels tested before starting on any hormone supplements like that. But so far the results are very exciting! Hopefully your FSH isn't high, but if it is, this is one option.
One other thing I have read great things about for older women having trouble conceiving is acupuncture! Personally I can't really afford it, but supposedly it is VERY helpful. I guess this is by improving the blood flow to the ovaries. (which is something that is a common issue the older we get, impaired blood flow to the ovaries)
I am up on female supplements so don't know much about supp's for men. But the ones with l-Arginine and zinc and stuff like that should be helpful! (and if possible they ought to limit smoking, drinking, caffeine, etc.) :-)
*** When I mention skin care, I'm thinking ahead for when I get the BFP. ;)
I want to be as chemical free as possible with my skin care and eating habits!
