How do I leave this place?

by AthenaOly, Oct 06, 2008 01:09AM
My mother is pretty damn psychotic. She can hell at me, calling me a c*** and a b**** and shove me and never remember that she did so. When she'd not in a fit she's pretty nice unless someone upsets her. But, I still don't think that this is the best place for me.
I'm moving out of her house on next Monday. The problem: She doesn't know yet. How do I tell her I'm leaving?? I'm scared

I'm so sorry you're going through this. No one should be treated like this. You DO deserve better. The only thing I can think of is that your mother must be mentally ill. Perhaps if you think that way it will be easier to accept that this is all her and has nothing to do with you.

You said you are moving out. Do you have a safe place to go? I do think it's a good idea to move out as long as you have a better place to go where you can just concentrate on your school work and being a teen!
You say she doesn't know. I think I'd wait till the last moment to tell her in case there's a scene. You need to make sure all the arrangements are set and solid. Make sure someone's picking you up and helping you with your stuff. If it were me, I'd wait till maybe this weekend to tell her. Make sure she knows you will be fine and safe and that this is the best situation for everyone for right now. Tell her you will call her and let her know you are safe.
That's what I'd do. Either way, it's not going to be easy and she may react badly. Just do what you know is the right thing for you.
I wish you the best.
God bless,
April
