Is there hope?

I've been dealing with depression and self harm for over 6 years. I wasn't the cool guy in school, people always picked on me. I was the dateless loser you see in the movies. Little did people know that I didn't have it too well at home. My parents always compared me to other kids, always told me I wasn't going anywhere in life or be any thing. And I believed them. I believed anything anyone told me about myself. I would cry myself to sleep nearly every night, hoping someone would save me. There was never a solution. I started failing out of school because I didn't care anymore. I hated the world, and everyone in it. People are such assholes and they don't even know the effect it will have on the people they inflict pain on. Please somebody, anybody, is there any hope for me? How can I change this feeling of being so alone?..

I feel your pain... But hope is what gets you through the tough times without drowning in them. Hope is something that carries you though the hardest times of them all. Don't give up on something just because what people say, don't listen to what they have to say or what there opinion is because the truth is if they call you the 'unworthy' or 'useless' one... There useless them selfs. Don't let people push you to you limit, you get to choose when enough is enough and what your limits are, your create your own limits! Let the pain and angry escape.... Never let it build up inside you and destroy you! Keep hope! It will get you through.

There is definitely hope. Just because you weren't the "cool guy" in school or didn't have many girlfriends, many people find this attractive. Also as for the family issue, I have been there and know exactly what it is like, but the difference for me is that those rude comments pushed me to try better at life. I am the first one to go to college in my family and am just 2 semesters away from graduating with my B.S in Psychology. As irisbritney said, DO NOT GIVE UP!

Of course there's hope.
There always is.
Don't give up.

I guess the only advice I have is "ride out your storm"

Your post caught my eye

Oh & you are NOT alone
