Suicidal Thoughts

I know I should talk to someone but I don't want my parents to find out and add to their stress.  They are having financial issues because of the economy and I feel like all I do is make things worse for them.  I don't know what to do...  I'm probably ging to end up doing what I've been doing and just act like I'm fine and happy.  I shouldn't be suicidal because I have a great life and I'm very privedledged but I just get these thoughts when the smallest thing goes wront it snowballs.

What are my options?

You really should tell someone and get help from a doctor because you don't want your parents to get stressed out if you tell them but if you don't tell them and you, lack of a better term, kill yourself, your parents will be a lot more stressed. So it would be best to tell your parents and i promise they will not get stressed out nearly as much as if you didn't tell them. I hope this helped and if you do need to talk to someone you can message me and i'll be glad to talk to you.

Hi, first of all.. how are you feeling right now?

Talking openly about how you feel can be hard, but once you get it out it's a relief. It will put you back in control and reveals the choices you have next.

It might feel like talking about this will put stress on your family or friends, but it is much better to talk about it, as they will be more concerned if they eventually see that something is wrong. You can only hide your thoughts for so long.

You've posted here which means you're a teenager. We all go through a tough time at this stage and anything can make us feel depressed and suicidal. We just have to concentrate on the future, and remember that it could be much worse than our current situation.

If you ever need someone to talk to, and you still don't feel like talking to a family member or close friend, I'm always here to talk. I know that I'm a complete stranger but it has its benefits- mainly that I can't run off and tell anybody. Firstly because we're probably hundreds of miles apart, and secondly I'm not that sort of person.

If you still need someone to talk to, and you don't feel you can talk to anyone you know, you should try calling the Samaritans on 08457 90 90 90 in the UK, and 1850 60 90 90 in the ROI. There will be someone on the line who will listen to you and try to help. If you don't want the call on your bill, they can even offer to call you back so it's completely hidden from your parents.

I hope you're OK, and remember- you don't really make things worse for your parents, you're part of their family, so of course you aren't making things worse for them. In fact, they probably feel better with you around.

I hope I've helped you, and I'm sorry if I haven't.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.
