Asthma or not?

since last year when ever i run, walk, play in band, or sometimes just sitting in class i will have an extreamly hard time breathing and cough a lot. My doctor said i probably have exercise induced asthma, but didnt do ANYTHING about it. let say this, i am NOT out of shape, i run almost every day in PE, have a health weight, play flute and alto sax in band (currently). its becoming a big problem for me because i just cant seem to take a full breath and it feels like someone is squeezing my chest. is this asthma or not? should i seriously try to get my parents to understand that i can not breath and take me to the doctor so they can do something about it?

If you are still having trouble breathing and your allergies are controlled, please go back to your doctor or go to a new doctor if the other does not listen to you, to get tested for asthma. Many doctors will just ask about your symptoms and because asthma and allergies are so similar in the way the symptoms are presented, they will just give you an inhaler to use. Asthma can get worse if not treated and you do not want to wait until you have had an attack in order to look for treatment. Hope it goes well.

Yes, could be allergies. I also say if you've never  this before if could be a cold in your chest. Or it could be stress, witch can constrict your breathing. I do agree its most likely allergies. Taking just a simple allergy relevant can help big time. and sometimes doctors just bug me how they say your fine when you know your not.

It could be asthma or it could be allergies, too. The two are hard to differentiate, so it's possible to have either one or even a mix of both. If the doctor finds you to have asthma, they should have given you an inhaler, just in case. And if you have allergies, then start using allergy medication to reduce your symptoms. I would talk to your parents and tell them you are serious and have trouble breathing at times. You want to go back to the doctors and get an inhaler in case you have an asthma attack.
