Please help

I am 16 and sexually active. Last month i started my period on the 27th june and it lasted 3 days. I had a very light period. It was brown blood and i didnt have any red blood. I used about 1 pad a day and still it didnt fill up. I had cramps during the period and after the period for a few days later too. I normally have really heavy periods with red blood and then nearer the end its brown. I am on the pill and have been since febuary this year.

This week i have been getting cramps and i am not due till next friday-monday time. Im not sure if this is related to my period or if this is something else that could be more serious. The pains are on the left side of the stomach where i normally feel period pains. The pains come and go and some are little, mild and really painful. Although this could be to do with my period i do find it hard to poo sometimes and i dont know if its to do with that.

Please help if you can?

Hi,

First of all i wouldn't worry about it. I have a few questions though before i can help you. How long have you been having periods? how long do they usually last? have you ever missed more than 2 periods in a row?

The pain on your left hand side may be your ovary. When we ovulate it is usually alternate ovaries each month, so if it was your left last month it may be your right next month etc.

i hope this helps

Have you take a home pregnancy test? Any time you are sexually active and have an off period that is different than normal, you should always test just to make sure you are not pregnant. It could just be a side effect of the pill or might be ovarian cysts, but you want to make sure you are not pregnant first. If the cramps are very painful, make a doctor's appointment to find out what is going on. Take care.
