Seizures?

I've got a problem, i think. I've had this for years, but never really took the time to find out about it. Every once in a while often times when I'm tired flashes fill my vision until I can't see anything for a few seconds. My head feels a little weird, but I close my eyes hold my head and it goes away. Usually if it happens once it happens a few times. I read on wikipedia that things like this in your vision can be a symptom of a minor seizure. Anybody know what this is?

I have epilepsy actually, a disorder in which the person who has it experiences seizures.  Have you ever blacked out after the flashes, or thought you had fallen asleep?  If so, then you probably had a grand mal seizure.  Either way, I would go to the doctor and ask for an EEG (Electroencephalogram, monitors your brain waves and can tell if they're abnormal - and if you have epilepsy).  If you can't get it at your hospital/clinic, get a referral to a neurologist.  They always have the equipment to get it done.  If you don't have insurance, find your local social services place and ask about something called "HealthShare."  It greatly minimizes (sometimes even eliminates) the cost of being seen by a doctor, and can help with medication.

Good luck!
