Suspected hypoglycaemia?

Hello, I am a 16 year old female and have been having this issue for about a year now, but has recently been getting more frequent/severe. About once a week, I have these periods of feeling shaky, weak, and hot if I haven't eaten for a while. For example if I eat breakfast at 10:30 am and don't eat lunch until 1:30 pm I will usually have these symptoms. I start to feel hot, and then gradually more and more weak and shaky until I eat something which helps in about 10 minutes. It wouldn't be an issue except that now it is starting to interfere with my school work. Sometimes if I am writing I have to stop for 10 minutes and eat because I can't hold a pencil and the shaking makes it difficult. I was wondering what these things might be caused by, and what the best way to handle these symptoms would be. Could this be hypoglycaemia? If I do need to make a diet change, I am concerned about losing weight (I am 5 foot 10 and 110 pounds). I feel like I eat a lot already but the weight just doesn't stay on. Any advice would be much appreciated, if you have any more questions please let me know and I will try to respond to them as soon as I can. Thank you so much in advance (:
