Tinnitus ?

i have gotten tinnitus from doxycycline , i m almost certain anyways... and i decided to stop taking the medication , however the ringing in the right ear is still there , i don't notice it only for when it is quiet , i'm asking will i always have it , will it get worse? or will it go away with time since im off the doxycycline. i have an appt with my ENT on the 1st , but i d like to know if im truly screwed or not

PRIOR TO TAKING THIS DOXYCYCLINE I DIDN'T HAVE TINNITUS.  AFTER TAKING DOXYCYCLINE I HAVE TINNITUS.  ANY QUESTIONS!!!   I TOOK DOXYCYCLINE FOR A SINUS INFECTION.  BIG MISTAKE!!!!!

From what I've read, yes, this med can cause tinnitus. Have you and your Dr discussed other options for treating the acne?

You really should continue your medication. You can always call your Dr and ask if this is a possible side effect and also ask if you should discontinue your medication. I do think the tinnitus will get better after you've finished your meds. Are you taking them for an ear infection?
