Weird knee?

Hey, this is kind of a small question, but I am really curious about it. Every now and then (maybe every other week), I will stand up and my right knee will feel like it is about to pop. It hurts pretty bad. It is the same tension/pressure feeling when you crack your knuckles, but without the resolve at the end. I'd say the pain is near the lower right part of my knee. Usually i will quickly spring all the weight to my other leg, and it usually happens a few steps after i have gotten out of a chair. I had bad knee problems last year (tendonitus*  i believe) where my knees would be in TERRIBLE pain if i bent down. I do not get much exercise since I am on the computer a whole lot so maybe a lack of exercise has something to do with it.

If someone can get to this, that would be awesome. If not, thanks anyways. (love this website)

Could just be growing pains, you're right, i can actually pop my knee which takes away a lot of the aching, its like the joints temporarily dislocated a little bit. You stand with your legs shoulder width apart and twist at the hips, keep your feet still. That could help a little.
If you exercised quite a lot and it still happens then go to your doc and ask them, it may be that theres a small bit of your knee thats been damaged, and that will need to be looked at. Don't worry, it'll probs only involve an xray of the knee to check it out :)

Yeah, it happened worse yesterday, i was sitting down on a pretty reclined couch and as i was standing up my right knee felt like it was trying to pop but instead just ached for a few minutes after i hurt it. I mean, I went on vacation recently and did a lot more physical things... it just seems like it happens randomly. Maybe i am standing up on it awkwardly. I guess it is possible it is a growing pain like my knees probably were as well over the last summer.

Your probably right with the lack of exercise causing problems, if left to go to waste the muscles supporting your knee will get weaker, so its time to get out there and exercise, even if its only walking for 15 mins a day or something. You could also ask your doctor if he thinks it may be arthritus, i'm not saying it is but aching and painful joints could be that.
a lot of the bones in my body pop when i stand up or sit down, proffesional massages helped a lot with my back and legs as did physio, so have a chat with your doc about it :)
