Ok, to reiterate.
Parents CANNOT give concent for their minor child to have sex. This is why we have age of concent laws.
It is not up to your parents to press charges or not. Anyone- your doctor, a friend, the hospital- can contact the state. The state assigns a prosecutor who determines if there is a reason to prosecute. Sometimes they take your opinion into consideration, sometimes not. It has a lot to do with how the state laws are written.

They can't press charges if your parents give consent for y'all to be together.

According to what I just read, the age of consent in texas is 17 & more than just your parents may press charges. Although the site may be a fraud. My suggestion would be to talk with your parents & maybe even a lawyer before you deliver.

Statutory rape involves age of consent.  So even if it is okay with the teen, they weren't considered old enough by the law to give consent.

But the age of consent is state dependent so that is worth checking on.

Just to add to the conversation---  the ONLY people that press actual charges or in other words decide to go forth with a case is the prosecutor.  They are the ones that file paper work and try a case and anyone can bring the breaking of a law to their attention.  That is why in things like domestic violence cases --  a battered spouse may decide not to press charges but the prosecutor does any way.  They are the last word on it.

But the good news is that they don't like to clog up the legal system.  That's why if parents really push, they may be more likely to make the case in statutory rape and if parents don't, they don't pursue it.

But anyone can bring it to them and ask for action including social services and hospitals.

luck to all

Your parents might have to be there idk . I'm pretty sure in ohio only your parents can press the charges . He should be able to sign it tho . When I got with my bf , I was 16 1/2 and he just turned 19 a month before we got together . We're only about 2 1/2 years apart .

Yes you will have very very big problems. In some cases the police, social services and everyone get involved if ur underage and the father is way over. Im 18 and i got asked loads of questions by the midwife and health visitor

By the way, if you google the state of Florida, it is actually the prosecutors sole decision whether to press charges or not regardless of who brings it to their attention.

Every state has different laws and you can check out your state's laws.  But, laws are laws whether no matter who brings it to the authorities attention.  Social services could take a look at a young minor with someone older and pursue charges along with the hospital.

I think it is hard because a 3 year age difference is not huge . . .   but seems that way in the teen years.  in reality, there isn't that huge a difference between a 15 year old and an 18 year old in my opinion.  But each year difference when one is 15 begins to look bad.  Does that make sense?  I guess I'm saying that in most cases, it isn't a man taking advantage of a little girl but two young people dating.

good luck

I know in Florida nobody can press charges except your parents. But idk about where you live. When I first started dating my husband I was 15 going on 16 and he was 19. Now I'm 18 and were married

I am pretty sure your parents are the only ones who can press charges not the hospital. They can press charges for statutory rape. My Mom was 15 and my Dad was 19 with their first and my Dad is on my sisters birth certificate but that was 30 years ago...

Yea I would avoid him doing so now... you can always add his name later once you get older.

I'm thinking the only priblem you'll have is the fact that you're underage & he isn't. He can get un trouble for rape regardless if you were willing or not. Your hospital may press charges.
