Does your gestational age of the baby date back to the exact date of conception?

This is a really complicated story...i really need someones help about this because it is depressing me and worrying me out completely..i know i'm probably worrying over nothing but i just cannot get this out of my head. Please help me.

I am 14 weeks and 2 days pregnant....i have a preety normal cycle as i get my period every month..i got my last period on the 11th of july..it lasted till the 15th july and on the next day the 16th of july i slept with a guy.

i got back with my boyfriend the 26th of july and had unprotected sex that night and many times after that before i found out i was pregnant.

I am almost certain that my boyfriend is the father of this baby because i had sex with the other guy one day after my period and slept with my boyfriend around the time i would have been ovulating.

its just i'm really confused now because when i went for my dating scan the baby measured at 11 weeks and 5 days..and when i count back it gives me a date of the 20th which was before i got back with my boyfriend.

Can this scan be off by a few days and am i worrying myself too much about this?

Please give me a good enough answer as i am very depressed over this and cannot get excited about my pregnancy over the worry.

If you were 11 weeks and 5 days on October 10th then you most likely conceived the fist week of August. When they date a pregnancy they count two weeks before you have even conceived. The chances of the baby being your boyfriends are VERY high, but the only way of know is a paternity test.

When an ultrasound tech gives you a date, he or she is talking about from your first day of your last cycle, not from conception.   As macys says, you then must count from 11 weeks 5 days being the first day of bleeding to two weeks later than that (i.e., at 9 weeks 5 days) being when you would presumably ovulate.  That still puts conception no earlier than the first week of August on my calendar.

well according to a 28 day menstrual cycle you would count 14 days from the FIRST day of your last period to get your ovulation date. that would be july 25th and women ovulate for 2-3 days so there is a good chance that baby is your bf's and that he/she is measuring a little small(not a big deal)

Did the ultrasound tech tell you 11 weeks 5 days in answer to a specific question from you about the date of conception, or did he or she use the medical way of counting (which is from the first day of your presumed last menstrual period)?  I was getting August dates also, not July dates, just like the previous poster.  Could you be more specific about your reasons for thinking you are 14 weeks 2 days?  And are you talking about the ultrasound person answering the specific question of when conception might have occurred?
