Fetal heart rate? high?

I went to my 2nd doctors appt yesterday and when she listened to the heartbeat it was up at 162.  Is this high? At my last appt. the baby's heart rate was only 150 so it kind of scared me that it has jumped that much in a week.  Im 19 weeks along as of yesterday.. I thought the heart rate was supposed to be between 120 and 160 so i was a little scared when it was kind of high.  Can someone let me know if this is a bad sign or if its normal?

The babies heartrate sounds wonderful. One week I will go to the doctor and my little mans heartrate is in the 150s and the next time it is in the 130s... Heartrates fluculate...(sp) Everything sounds wonderful.

Yeah like Kim said heart rates bounce all over the place depending on many different things. I had a doppler that I used to listen to my babies heart rate at home and she would go anywhere from 135-173 everyday. The heart rate is usually higher if the baby is awake and active and slower when the baby is resting or sleeping.

ok thanks.. i was just really scared that something was wrong because like a week ago it was only 150.. I have been really nervous this entire pregnancy because of my m/cs.. and now my doctor ordered an u/s with a perionatalist or something.. someone thats going to look more closely at the baby's heart.. I think that she's just being cautious but the fact that the heart rate had jumped 12 beats scared me on top of her talking about looking closer at the heart.

it will fluctuate based on how you are and what you eat or drink. like if you just had a cup of coffee...well its going to be higher
