How much sperm does it take to get pregnant?

I'm 16 and lost my virginity 13 days ago and have been expeiriencing most of the early pregnancy symptoms. He didn't use a condom but pulled out. But I could still feel some sperm inside me. Could I still be pregnant even though he did pull out?

No one to help me,
-M

Any time you engage in sexual activity without protection and there is semen involved you can get pregnant. I don't care if if he pulled out or came on your belly or on the sheets near your vagina or what. It takes just one single sperm to fertilize an egg. You ovulate once a month, and for those 24hrs your fertile and able to concieve. Sperm can live inside you for 3-5days on average. So if you ovulate anytime within that time frame you can get pregnant. You have to know your body well enough to know when you ovulate and that times time and practice. Why can't kids just use condoms or birth control. You souldn't be having unprotected sex at this age. Babies are not a game and are a lot of work. Don't play with fire. Just use protection or walk away. Not to mention the diseases out there. Did you know that gonorrhea is becoming so rampant that it is becoming a "super bug" which means pretty soon there will be no cure. Do you want to go through the rest of your life with something like that?? Who is going to want to sleep with you then?

It takes ONE sperm and ONE time of sexual activity.  It does not have to involve pentration, just rubbing the penis on the vagina and leaking pre-ejaculate at the vaginal opening can lead to pregnancy.  Anytime you engage in sexual activity you run the risk of becoming pregnant...even condoms aren't fool proof.

The best rule of thumb is this:  If you are scared of becoming pregnant, aren't PREPARED to be a parent or both then you should abstain from all sexual activity until such a time as you are prepared to handle the consequences responsibly should an unplanned pregnancy take place.

It is also highly adviseable for ANY PERSON, regardless of age to make sure that they educate themselves on the male/female reproductive systems and how reproduction/conception occurs PRIOR to becoming sexually active.  Being armed with the proper knowledge is a very good defense against unwanted situations.

We can't tell you chances. Just know they exist and unless you're trying for a baby, don't have unprotected sex. (pulling out also doesn't count as protection because there's pre-ejaculation) the only thing you can do is wait 2-4 weeks and take a pregnancy test with first morning urine.

Hey there,

Thought maybe I could help you out a little bit. I understand where you're coming from. I was 14 when I got pregnant with my first. He was 19 and talked me into it more or less, I was never taught by my very religious parents what sex really was or what birth control was! It does happen! I did end up marrying him, however, that's besides the point.

Are your periods normally regular, as in every 27-35 days? If you can tell me how long they typically are, and when you had sex I can help give you an estimation on the percentage of pregnancy. People who actually try to get pregnant only have a 25% chance of conceiving each cycle, that's not very high. So, give me your normal lenghts of your cycles, when the FIRST day of your LAST period was, as in the day you first started bleeding, and the day you had sex with him.

I'm not going to harp on this, but in case you didn't know like I didn't. There are condoms you can buy. If a guy truly loves or cares about you, he will make sure that he has one on ready to go! There is a pill called plan-B, I think you have to be 17 to buy it. It works if you take it after unprotected sex in the first 72 hours. If you use this all the time as a birth control method, it will not be effective, so get on regular birth control. Call planned parenthood, or see your family Dr., or OB/GYN. There are some nasty diseases out there sweetie!! One time could ruin your life. You could HIV, Herpes, etc., and what guy will want to marry you or have children with you after that? See what I mean!!

I will be watching the board for your response. You can also email me at ***@**** and we can talk via email if you feel more comfortable!

You know I would have to agree. There are so many young people out there that do not have anyone to talk to or ask questions when it comes to things like this, you know we have all been there and all have had crazy questions esp. Before we learned all the details. If we can't even be pleasant when someone is trying to ask and learn, then eventually noone will go to anyone for help and there will be more problems than just pregnancy. I challange u all to think of one time you had a question that might have seemed crazy, but you didn't know the answer to and were embarrased because noone ever told you, and had people make fun of you for. I guarantee you all have had multiple. We all need to set an example and be adults. I sure would hope that if I ever had a daughter that had questions or was scared and felt as though she could not come to me, that there would be more decent people out there that would help. We all must have some kind of questions that we don't know the answer to if we are all on these forums. Really think before you speak sometimes, you never know when you may need the advice someday.

Take a pregnancy test two weeks from the day you lost your virginity, and then again about a week later if your period has not shown.  If you wind up being not pregnant, count your lucky stars, and be more careful.

I apologize for being insensitive if you really were asking an honest question.  It's just that there are people out there that post ridiculous "fake" posts.  Please dont have unprotected sex.  It's not a good idea and as BabyHardiman said, you can get lots of diseases out there.  Best Wishes.

OK, I totally almost spilled my beverage out my nose.  Surely this is a fake post. I am almost betting.  I am pretty sure this person will never respond again...........Incase it is REAL, anytime the Penis enters the Vagina you can get pregnant.  I think that should be a banner on this website, in flashing lights.............just a thought..........

It only takes one sperm to get pregnant.  The pull-out method is not an effective form of birth control.  Yes, you could be pregnant.

You "feel" the sperm?  It only takes a few or less to get pregnant.

You lost you virginity and did NOT use a condom?  Please, next time be more careful with your body.  I know I am not your mother, but you could catch some serious stuff out there if you are not careful!  Stuff that I know condoms may not even protect against, stuff WORSE than pregnancy.  If I were your age that is what I would be worried MOST about.
