Is this normal?

Hi, on new years, my boyfriend and i had sex but we used a condom. Now my period is seven days late and the two pregnancy tests i have taken have come back negative. My breasts are sore, and my lower back aches but that usually happens before i get my period. I havent had a change in my diet or any nausea. I have however been getting killer headaches, which isnt normal for me. Im not feeling any fatigue or increased tiredness, but im not sure how to proceed. Do you think its just my period changing because ive been a little more stressed lately, or could i be pregnant? Im only 15, and i need some good advice. Should i take another pregnancy test if my period doesnt come within the next week?

Yah it happens because your body is not used to that but pregnancy test are usually very accurate so you shouldn't have to worry about its going to come when it's time

I don't think you'd need to be 18.  I don't know where you live, so I can't say for sure.

But here's the thing. You keep testing negative for pregnancy. I would go to your mom if you're still worried. Tell her that you have had negative pregnancy tests.  See if she can get you to the doc.

Being a low weight, low body fat, teen - you can do damage to yourself by not getting enough fat in your system.  If you don't start your period by next month - I would talk to your mom.

No, I don't have sex often. We did on new years, because it was a special day I guess you could call it, with it being our 14 month anniversary. If you don't have sex often, that could cause your period to be late? I never heard that before.

Do you have sex often? Cause if you don't then maybe that's why it happened quit a few times to as well, but then again stress also has a big impact on periods

Yeahup. Two whole days with cramps that feel like my period is coming, and it hasnt. My face is also breaking out, and that usualy happens before i get my period, but i still havent started it yet. I think im stressing about it too much with my midterms being this week as well, and being concerned with family problems. I want to tell my mom, but im very afraid to. She kicked my sister out of the house for gettig pregnant at 19 and still after almost a year my mom wont speak with my sister, and refuses to hold my nephew. Do you think i should wait, and if i do end up being pregnant then tell her? Because i dont want her to give  me the silent treatment for just having a late period. She knows im not a virgin, and shes accepted that, but if she were to kick me out, i would have no where to go. Should i tell her, or get set in stone results first? Also, if i were to go to a free testing center, do i have to be 18 or have a parent with me? Because my mom wouldnt take me if i told her. I do however have my stepmom who will, considering she adopted me and does have a form of custody over me she can be counted as a gaurdian.

Well thankyou:) i do skip meals when stressed because my anxiety makes me too shaky to eat. I started my period last year in september. I am very thin and dont have much body fat, and i am very active with my running. Im still not sure, but i believe the cramps ive been feeling most of the day have been period pains, but i havent started yet.

First of all let me commend you on being A) well informed about your cycle, B) Able to come here and PROPERLY communicate clearly and C) being responsible with sexual relations.

I was very irregular.  I also had very little body fat and exercised like crazy for dance and cheerleading.  I would often miss my periods.  Stress WILL make your cycle go off.

I would suggest trying a free clinic for a blood test.  Because you had sex - you could be pregnant.  the only way to keep, 100% sure, from getting pregnant is no sex. But if you used the condom correctly - your chances of getting pregnant are much MUCH reduced.  And like AnnieBrooke said earlier, you also have to hit the ovulation date as well.

Do you eat enough?  Or do you skip meals when you're stressed?  How long have you had your period?  THe first year to two years are often a little varied.

No, the condom was not wet after we put it on, he was erect when he did it, and we both checked afterwards to see if the condom had broke. It looked fine. There wasnt another instance when our genitals touched, and were both very confused. My periods are usually pretty regular, but there has been times when it was a fews days to a week late. There was once when i completely missed my period in one month. I always test in the morning, and both tests have come back nagative. Im not sure what to do now. I am under more stress than usual, but could that be whats causing it?

Your period is a week late?  Has it ever been a week late before or are you always super regular?  Did he put the condom on before he was erect, or was there some genital contact before that?  Could the condom have gotten wet on the outside from him?  There is a possibility that you're pregnant, but usually a condom used properly will reduce the odds considerably (not to 0, but to at least to only 10-20%, and on top of that you would have to be ovulating, which only happens one day per cycle, and if you were expecting your period on or around the 7th, you wouldn't have been ovulating on New Year's Eve).  Have you been taking the pregnancy tests with first-morning, concentrated urine?
