Is this normal?!

Maybe I'm just paranoid, over-worried, and over-stressed, but I just need to know if what I'm experiencing is normal. First of all, I'm 20 years old and 5 weeks pregnant.

At very sporatic times I get cramps and/or sharp pains in my abdomen. It's not really on either side, just pretty much in the center. Sometimes the pain shoots down, sometimes it doesn't. I have no bleeding or spotting at all, just the cramps/pains. Is this normal? Or is something wrong?

i honestly think its normal because i had sharp pains also when i was about 5wks until i was like maybe 11wks as long as you dont have to take any meds or whatever you should be fine and since there is no blood thats a good thing. if you start to bleed then its serious. i would say just relax for now i dont think its bad the dr will just tell you that your uterus is stretching.

I knew cramping was normal, but this isn't regular cramping. It's pain. Sharp, shooting pain. And it hurts so bad that I have to stop walking and bend over sometimes just to relieve it. It only lasts for a short while, but it's so scary.

Okay let me explain. When I first knew I was pregnant it was at 8 weeks (2 months) after that I started to feel the same thing as you bad "cramping" pain we call it. Well here what it is, its your body below getting use to your uterus expanding and having a baby inside, like having the pressure of the uterus on your ligaments etc. So theres no need to worry since you arent even bleeding. I still have the cramps sometimes so be prepared to have them through out your pregnancy. As long as they dont last a hella long time your good and if there is no bleeding which you say. Hope this helps...You just going to have to deal with it. If you need pain med for it (which I dont think anyone does) you can only take tylenol for any pain really.

Yep completely normal. I don't think anyone goes through the beginning of pregnancy without those weird cramps. Freaks most people out as well. Sometimes I wonder if pregnancy is just one big head game.
