Not so much when I was pregnant, but when I was nursing, I felt hunger in a totally different way than I had ever felt before. It was like a desperation. I wrote it off to evolution -- when a woman is pregnant or nursing, her body is programmed to tell her to be sure to eat. My hunger would be more like I was starving, and that didn't go away until I stopped nursing. Maybe that's the kind of thing you're talking about.
