brown discharge and late period

Hello, i am 18 years old. sexually active. I was supposed to get my period 4 days ago, but instead i got this brown discharge with a little bit of blood, not heavy at all. i thought i had started my period but actually through out the day, nothing happened. the next day, same thing, only when i wipe , i dont need a tampon or a pad, just a liner. what could be causing this. help!

it sounds like you've got implantation bleeding.. id take a test if i were you
