So i found out recently that i am pregnant. It's not an ideal situation but I want to do it right. My question is that I have two ovarian cysts (one on each side) as far as I know, one may have ruptured. But I've been experiencing some severe pain in the area where they are. Does this have to do with the baby? I don't want to go to the doctors and be all worried if it is nothing. Does any one know how cyst act during a first pregnancy or any pregnancy for that matter?

the cramps and pain don't necessarily have to be the cysts. yes it could be BUT there could also be something wrong with the baby. that's why ob/gyn's tell you to tell them about any uterine pains or cramping so they can monitor it. never assume it's something else. even if it is it's better to be safe rather than sorry.

nope. cysts are pretty common. there is absolutely nothing you can do about them but just wait for them to pop. lol i have one too and i am also pregnant. i already asked my doctor about it affecting the baby and it doesnt at all. the cramps and severe pain are due to the cyst not the baby. you are good :)

you could...but it's hard to tell if they're cysts or not. I have multiple cysts in my ovaries (and i was told i could never have children...i have 17 month old twins. we NEVER expected to have such an easy time when we were ttc...and NO i'm not a teen and wasn't when my hubby and i were ttc) and the only thing i get are period like cramps even when my period is nowhere in sight. if you think you may have them contact your doc and request an exam. (we found mine accidentally when I had to have a full body mri after my riding accident. i have 2 cysts in my left ovary and 4 on my right.)

ive got a question about cysts actually! i know the doctor needs to tell you you have cysts but do you get any symptoms prior to this?

you need to tell your doctor. they'll be able to monitor the cysts and find out if it's affecting the pregnancy or not. if the pain persists go to the er asap.
