discomfort in the jaw since my carotid sonogram

I had a carotid sonogram last Wednesday. That night I had an episode of throbbing pain along my teeth, gums,up the right side of my nose and the TMJ area only on the right side. Several more episodes have happened since and they last about 20 minutes, even at 3 am this morning. Cold/ hot drinks and food will set it off too. Never had problems with my TMJ before. It comes on like a wave of pain and then is gone.  Could this be from the sonogram??  Maybe something got pressed too hard?  Taking ibuprofen and warm compresses. Is there anything else i can do?
