Am i a poor converter of T4?

recent blood work                     tsh   5.71  range 0.40-4.50
  nov 9, 2010                            t4 free 1.8   range 0.8-1.8
                                               t3 total  102  range 76-181
                                               t3 free 284  range 230-420  

does this suggest that im not converting t4 well into t3?  my dose was upped from 165 to 200 after this test.  my question is am i a low converter of t4 and what causes this? had a tt 2 years ago due to multi nodules on both sides and suspicion of cancer  pap and follicular.  cells.  any advice . im mainly tired. hoping this dose increase helps out. thanks Kevin

The levels are in range - would not conclude you are a poor converter (which is very rare).
The increase from 175 to 200mcg of levothyroxine was appropriate based on high TSH.
One future consideration would be addition of 5mcg of T3 (cytomel) to see if this helps.

6 weeks later new results  tsh 0.38  range 0.40-4.50
                                        t4 free 1.7 range 0.8-1.8
                                        t3 free 299 range 230- 420
    feel ok. wondering if numbers are ok
