Ankles continue to swell, very worried!

Hi, my ankles continue to swell.  On July 29 after seeing my newest TSH blood results my doctor felt it was because of a need to change my thyroid medicine Synthroid from .88mcg to 100mcg. I have been taking the new dose for six weeks and my ankles are still swelling.

On Sep. 4 my doctor determined that I have Tendonitis in my right wrist and has me taking Advil 600mg 3 x daily, as well as, wearing a brace with a metal bar in it to support my wrist. My ankles are still swelling and I'm very concerned. Could the Advil cause water retention and therefore ankle swelling? I have been drinking 4 to 6 glasses of water daily in addition to other fluids hoping this might help alleviate the swelling. Help?

Thank you so much for your response to my concern.  TSH was 2.8 when Synthroid was increased from .88mcg to 100mcg on July 29.

I stopped taking the Advil yesterday and already today my ankles are so much better. On previous days no sooner would I get out of bed for the day with in a couple of hours they would be swelling. Also, there was a weight loss of 4 lbs from yesterday mornings reading to this mornings reading.

Advil could cause fluid retention type problems.  Would see your internist for evaluation.  This is not likely thyroid if the TSH is normal (0.3-2.5).
