I hope everything turns out ok, just got my FNA results back...everything benign, see ENT 2/7, have 2.4 cm nodule that is ill defined, Dr. Lupo recommend some additional thyroid testing...my ENT has ordered the additional testing to rule out Hasimoto's disease..best of luck to you..this thyroid stuff can be overhelming..
Thank you for your reply. I had surgery 1-11. Hemi. I had the molecular genetic mutation testing prior. BRAF etc. it was negative. My surgeon still recmded surg since my FNA sample was borderline in quantity. Such a crap shoot this thyroid stuff! He said he did not see anything particularly worrisome during surg. I remain hopeful.
Bland usually means that there are no nuclear (part of the thyroid cells) features of papillary thyroid cancer and usually favors a benign process. But the final read was "indeterminate" -- would request the slides be sent for expert second opinion before making any decisions regarding surgery or repeating the FNA w/ molecular markers (Afirma in this case if still indeterminate on expert read).
