Depression

Recently diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. I have been having some major bouts with depression lately. Was on Zololf for a few years (before I was diagnosed ) but stopped taking them. My doc won't prescribe any meds only suggests removal (with nodules smaller than 1/4 cm). I feel trapped and nowhere to run. What can I do? No insurance and can't get help anywhere else.

I've only had two labs done and didn't understand how it came to surgery. I'm not in the position to get a second opinion yet but hopefully soon.I really don't trust my Endo doc but was assigned to her through the VA.

You should see an endocrinologist (or another one) as surgery is not usually the first choice  for hyperthyroidism.
