Eyes bulging

When on medication and stable, can a persons eyes still keep bulging or do they just stay as they are being that their condition is under control?

Graves Opth. is brought on by Graves disease but is independant from the thyroid disorder.  You can have your thyroid under control and your eyes may continue to bulge or you may not have problems with your eyes bulging until years later.

Seems like it took maybe 1 1/2 yrs. Many nights I remember waking up and it felt like someone sprayed sand in my eyes. Have you talked to your Dr about it? Is your thyroid back to "normal" Get a 2nd opion? I'm stumped. Eye Dr? When I said Im having fun with my thyriod I was being a smart a$$ LOL.

Fun?  Gosh I wish I could say that...lol.  So you said your eyes went back to normal after it was under control, right? How long were they bulging for, if you dont mind me asking?  The reason I ask is because my eyes have been bulging for about three years now, basically ever since I got sick.  I changed dramatically and although i am used to the way I look now, I would love for my eyes to go back to the way they used to look.  So, what do you think?

Yes I had radio iodine the end of last year and then in march they put me on synthroid because now I am hypo instead of hyper. Right now I'm alternating between 50 mg and 25 mg.  I have to go to the doctor in two weeks to see what he tells me about how I'm doing.  But, I've been seeing an eye doctor and the last time I went he took pics of me and my next appt is in december and he says for me to bring pics of when I didnt have any disease because he wants to see what kind of an affect it had on my eyes.  But he said that in the last 8 months my eyes havent changed which is good and he said when I come back in december hes going to tell me about a surgery that i could do if I want to but he says it not necessay.  If I do decide to do it he says it would be to just remove the fat from my eyes.

You woke up feeling like someone blew dust in your eyes! I used to wake up feeling like somone was stabbing me with a pencil in both of my eyes and I used to see blury for the first 30 seconds of waking up.  It was the worst and cryign about it didnt help the puffiness in the eyes. It was the worst!!!!!!

Hello, I was wandering around and found this site.
I've been having fun with my thyriod for 10yrs. I started with Graves Disease. My eyes went back to normal after my thyriod was under control with meds. (for a short time)
