Hi TNT, nothing to elaborate too much, but I also have problems pronouncing my words, I'm very glad to hear that I am not the only one with this going on, I thought I was.  I too, have a real difficult time with S's.  Well that's all my input, just to let you know you arent' alone, and i'm glad to know i'm not either.  Take care.

I would not be surprised to find that your difficulty in pronouncing certain words is due to the thyroid problem.  After my thyroid was removed due to cancer, I had to completely starve my body of thyroid hormone for 10 weeks prior to being treated with radioactive iodine.  I became severely hypothyroid and along with the standard symptoms of fatigue, muscle cramps, puffy face, dry skin and poor short term memory, I developed a definite slur in my speech.  I sounded like I had been drinking too much!  My difficulty in speaking did not go away until my thyroid levels were brought back to normal.

TNT, I sent you a second reply but posted it under "confused by TSH level and symptoms" Lee99.
Sorry about that, it's the second time I've done that lately. I'll be more careful.

Hi TNT!
I'm willing to bet sometimes people looking into this forum, maybe even Dr.s, think we are attributing too many things to thyroid but here goes again! Some medical websites actually mention "difficulty pronouncing words", as a possible symptom of thyroid disease. There is a women who has an interesting website, her name is "Sonja Midtlien", she is Norwegian and if you will put her name in the search-bar of www.google.com, I'm sure her thyroid website will be listed, for you to click on and go to it. She mentions that the "Norwegian Thyroid Association", lists "difficulty pronouncing words", as a symptom of Hashimoto's Hypothyroidism and they state that the cause is "due to enlargement of root of tongue". That's their words, not mine, so everone out there take it for what it's worth! We do know our thyroid regulates EVERYTHING in our body, so this would not be hard to believe in my opinion.
God Bless You Again TNT and Thanks Again For Your Past Support!
