A related discussion,
Hyperthyroid was started.
this may have been a transient thyroiditis and not graves (in which case you could wean off methimazole with your doctor's supervision) - but one cannot say it's not graves just b/c levels are normal on methimazole.
I have seen endocrinologist. He advises symptoms are not Graves disease as my levels are now in normal range. I am fortunate that I have a caring family doctor that is persistent. I have seen a neurologist and next having ultrasound and seeing a internist. Couple of facts. Initially in July when diagnosed I had slight tremors once on thyroid med/tapolzole the shaking got worst and I ended up in the hospital. The endocrinologist said it was Graves/my symptoms. Now that I am in the normal range he says it's not Graves. It is my family doctor that is trying the beta blocker.
The beta blocker may need to be increased to help w/ the shaking and the heart racing. It takes some time for things to settle even after normalizing TSH, but also watch T4 and T3 to help with medication adjustments for hyperthyroidism. Referal to endocrinologist seems appropriate.
