How long does it take for thyroid medication to take effect?
I have recently started treatment for Hashimoto's Hypothyroidism.  My doctor started me on 60 mg. of Armour 1 week ago.  I have been taking  it 1 hour before breakfast.  I have been feeling a little better in a.m., but still very fatigued by mid-afternoon.  I have ALL the typical 'hypo" symptoms.   I am following a strict diet.  Aproximately, how long does it take to see reduction in symptoms, and weight loss?   Also, my doctor is re-testing my TSH & Free T4  levels in June.
Shouldn't my T3 or Free T3 be checked as well?

Thank-you very much!!

it takes 2-3 weeks to begin to feel the effects.  T3 testing is sometimes helpful -- ask your doctor what his/her protocol is.
