Hyper and hypothyroidism?

Is it possible to have both hyper and hypothyroidism at the same time? And if so, what is the term for the condition?

Hey, thanks for the quick response. One more question, please. What is the treatment for Hashitoxicosis?

No - it is possible to have "symptoms" of both -- but the symptoms are not specific -- so many people (even w/o thyroid disease) report symptoms that are seen in both hypo and hyperthyroid.

It is possible to swing back and forth between the two -- usually over several weeks/months (ie, not rapid, day-to-day cycling) -- this is often called Hashitoxicosis.
