I was diagnosed hypothyroid at the end of December. I've been on increasing doses of Levothyroid (sp), but my GP didn't want to test anything except TSH so I changed doctor last week. The new doctor sent me for an ultrsound scan on Tuesday which showed bands and nodules. I rang the GP and he told me to come in next morning where he gave me a prescription for blood tests and arranged for a hospital test on 27th May where I'll be given iodine and then tested/XRayed to see where the thyroid takes it up.
Anyhow, I collected the blood test results this afternoon and they're as follows
AC anti-thyroperoxydase 3946.8 UI/ml (ref value less than 6)
AC anti-thyroglobuline 39.16 UI/ml (ref value less than 5)
Although the GP said to go back with all the results after I've been for the hospital test, these blood test results are so badly over I wondered if I ought to go to the GP sooner.
What do you think?
I'd be grateful for any advice
