Labs Normal feel terrible

Trying to get an answer, just had TSH panel done, and here are the results:  TSH 3.05 (0.45-4.50)  T3 Uptake 29.5 (23.4-42.7)
T4(Thyroxine) 6.2 (4.5-12.5)  all show normal ranges, but I feel hypo, and have so many symptoms.  Also ANA positive, been tested for Hashi, Lupus, RA , I am 38 and feel like 50.  Had my hormones tested and my testosterone level was slightly high at
42 (4-39)  I have lupus in family, Hashis, RA, and that is why I have been checked, do not know where to go from here. Just want to know if my TSH level at 3.05 is an indicator of hypo.
Symptoms> gained 15 lbs in a year (no diet change), Daily headaches, TMJ, muscle pain, constipation, fatigue, high cholesterol, low body temp, heavy long periods, tired even after sleep, low libido, moody.  Any advise

I have asked my Dr. several times to do a TSH test.  Last year it came back 2.11.  He said everything was okay.  My mom has been hypo for years and my symptoms could be hypo also.  Extremely tired, never enough sleep.  I am also iron deficient anemic (can't absorb iron)and also type 2 diabetic.  I took a home TSH test twice.  Last year 6/05 it was 8.66 and just recently it was 14.68.  I havent shown it to my Dr. because his test was much lower. Anyone ever use the home testing and how would you approach you MD?  Thanks for any feedback.

Please ask your lab what they consider normal ranges. A great number of labs are STILL going by the old numbers and thats a shame because many people, mostly women are told they are fine when they are NOT and blame themselves and have to live with these debilitating symptoms everyday and waste lots of money. In late 2002 American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists recommended that the normal TSH range be narrowed to 0.3 to 3.0, anything over 3.0 should be considered hypothyroid. So millions of people are STILL misdiagnosed. Some thyroid experts even diagnose hypothyroidism with TSH levels above 1.5 or 2.0. I am not a doctor, but according to all this information you ARE hypothyroid and have been misdiagnosed according to old numbers that have been around for decades. You know your body and you know something is wrong, go with your gut and find an endocrinologist that will listen to you. I guess we can't recommend web sites in this forum, but maybe I can direct you to some info that has really helped me with my Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. Try doing a search on: hypothyroidism top doctors. You will find a great website, go to their home and you will find a WEATLH of informaiton there. .thyroid-info. is THE ONE to look at!!!! I hope you get diagnosed and treated soon before you start feeling worse! Take care and get plenty of rest and ask your family and friends to help out with simple stuff, it can be a big help!

Very suspicious of hypo. Ask to be retested for FT4, FT3 and thyroid antbodies. Results should be conclusive. Good luck.

TSH of 3.05 is borderline hypo and with the positive antibodies (hashi) I would consider a trial of medication to get the TSH around 0.5-1.0 to see if it helps.
