Multinodular goiter

After an ultrasound I was Told  I have multi nodular  goiter the dr. Said a few are very small and one is larger.  He wants to take a wait and see approach and recheck in a year.   My TSH is 2.16 and T4 is 1.0 is that a normal approach?  I have looked up symptoms for thyroid problems and have about 80%. Dr. Then discussed a medifast plan and said I need to lose about 40 lbs.  He told me i am so tired because I am carrying the extra weight.  But i have had this extra weight for more than 5 yrs and just in the past 6 months or so i have not felt good.  I also can feel a lump in my throat like a pill is stuck. I'm very discouraged with his reactions - should I wait or get another opinion

TSH of 2.16 is normal and thyroid is not cause of weight or likely cause of fatigue -- I agree that weight loss makes most people feel more energy.

Regarding the goiter - would need to see a thyroid specialist to evaluate the ultrasound images to see if FNA biopsy is needed.

Don't wait, seek another opinion.  It took 4 years and having my thyroid go into hyperthyroidism and the nodules turn toxic before anyone would treat me.  Good Luck.
