Nature Throid while preggers?

Can I continue taking Nature Throid at 5 weeks pregnant? I have been taking it for over a year for my thyroid. I take 1 grain daily. My Dr. said I should continue taking it but just wanted a second opinion.

Ideally, the treatment is T4 only during pregnancy.

Thank you Dr Lupo. I spoke with my doctor and he wants to put me on the synthroid combined with a 1/2 grain of the nature throid. In your opinion, will that provide enough T4 for my baby?

No - it is not preferred to take T3 containing products during pregnancy as T4 is the main thyroid hormone the baby depends on -- but it is important to take thyroid medications in pregnancy and the dose usually requires increase.  Levothyroxine (synthroid, levoxyl, etc) is the standard of care during pregnancy with a goal TSH in the 0.3-2.0 range typically.
