Question about nodules

Why is it that with each ultrasound (4) they find new nodules - shouldn't Synthroid keep it under control?

Actually some nodules have gotten smaller - new ones appearing the one on my isthmus is new at 2.3cm -that's the one that bothers me with compression symptoms

How long ago were you put on meds?  Also how big were your nodules/thyroid.  I think putting people on thyroid meds to prevent nodules from growing is outdated.

Not necessarily  - we don't use synthroid (levothyroxine) routinely to suppress nodules unless the TSH is high.
