Squeezing in chest

Hi everyone,

I was just diagnosed with hypothyroid and have been taking synthroid for 4 days. Does anyone have problems with a squeezing sensation in the chest? It's a pretty superficial feeling, not deep in the chest, but a little disconcerting nontheless. I had this feeling before starting Synthroid (my doc said the squeezing was a symptom of hypothyroid) and hope it will subside as my body adjusts to the new med. Anyone else with this, and if so, is there anything that makes it go away? Thanks!
Steph

I have the same squeezing feeling as well. Before I start the meds, I have it. Right now, I am still having it. In addition to the squeezing feeling in chest, I have back pain and neck pain as well. It goes on and off. I am only 30 years old and I feel like I am 80 or 90 years old.

Hi Stephie,

I've been getting the same thing since my doc increased my dosage.  It's only been a few days, so I'm hoping it will go away as I adjust.

it will likely improve, but tell your doc if it is getting worse, the initial synthroid dose may be too much for you
