Synthroid & Hair Loss?

My TSH has been low (.5 to 1.0) for the last year and a half.  Today I got lab results at my annual physical and my TSH is now .322.

My hair has been falling out all over for the last year.  Could my thyroid have anything to do with this?  My doctor said he believed it could, but he is a family doctor, not a specialist.

I am currently taking 75 mcg's of Synthroid 3 days a week and 50 mcg's the other 4 days.  I am also taking 5 mcg's of compounded T3 daily.

Would you recommend a change in my meds?

Thank you.

The thyroid may do this, but you have hypothyroidism and are already on combine t4/t3 treatment.  The TSH is a little on the low side, but not severe enough to definitively implicate the thyroid in the loss of hair.  Suggest a hair/nail vitamin -- GNC has one, others do as well.  Takes at least 2-3 months to see a change.  Also consider a dermatology eval for the hair loss to make sure there is no scalp disease.
