TSH and Free T4 Levels

I had a Thyroidectomy in December and I am currently taking 88mcg if Levoxyl.  I jsut got my test results back indicating my Free T4 is 1.1, and TSH is 2.62.  Are those test indicating my thyroids levels are normal at this time?

You are bang in the middle of the range. Ofcourse the range varies from lab to lab. My latest thyroid numbers as of 4 days ago are TSH 2.13 FT4 1.1. Please do remember one thing even though you are within range you may not feel good. It's about feeling good. Most endo's try to tweak the dosage so that FT4 is towards the upper end of the range. Goodluck!

It depends on the cause of thyroidectomy - if cancer, the TSH may be too high, otherwise it is borderline high as we try to target a TSH of 0.5-2.5.  If the TSH is high, a dose increase is often necessary to correct.
