TSH went from 67.7 to 80.9 in 12 days!!

I was having a lot of weird feelings and had gained a lot of weight really fast, so I went to the doctor. He has me go for my first blood test on the 6th of may, and the TSH level was 67.7 and the T4 was at 6. So, my doctor sent me for another blood test to make sure everything was right, this blood test was on the 18th of may, and the TSH level was at 80.9, with the t4 still at 6!!!

I'm only 20, and thought I was perfectly health. I have to wait for my appointment with the endo for three months, I can't see him 'till august 29th!

Is this something I should be worried about, and could this have any serious side effects on me?
Any answers at all would be great, I would love to know a little about what is happening to me.

ps. My doctor has started me on Synthroid

Thank you for the reply!

My doctor from the clinic has given me a referral to see an endo, and I am also supposed to have my ultra sound of my neck. I looked at my blood test result, and the thyroid antibodies is there, is it 591. Does this change anything?

Nope - sounds like a good plan.

This is severe hypothyroidism - the TSH levels are similar.
Synthroid was the right treatment and at your age a full replacement dose (average start is 100mcg) is recommended with follow-up TSH in 5-6 weeks along with thyroid antibodies.
