Nodules were found on my thyroid simply by chance. I was able to access the results via my health insurances website and am awaiting my primary care physician's call as to her thoughts on the results. In the meantime I'm wondering the the next step(s) might be. Here are the results given:
Ultrasound of the thyroid gland: The architecture of both lobes
of the thyroid gland is slightly inhomogeneous irregular which
could represent early multinodular goiter; an oval 1.5 cm
inhomogeneous nodule is seen posterior mid right lobe. Several
small nonspecific calcifications are seen in the right lobe which
could be from degeneration, facet inflammation, etc. A 2.2 mm
calcific focus with acoustic shadowing is seen at the anterior
margin lower left lobe. No specific neoplastic pattern; however,
neoplasia at the noted right lobe nodule cannot be excluded.
1. Apparent multinodular goiter as above with nonspecific
I also am having difficulties with my thyroid, having issues with swallowing sore throat feel like a choking sensation when i eat, I lost 12 pounds within a month or so and found that I have a extremely inhomogeneous of my entire gland in echo texture. the entire left lobe appears to be almost a nodule with inhomogeneity of the echo pattern. In the right lobe amongst all the inhomogeneity from a hypoechoic compass nodule was visualized in the lower pole measuring 1.6 x1.7 x0.5 cm also impression stating that I have thyroiditis in addition to multinodular goiter.
i am on 88 mcg of synthroid but having a real hard time finding the right dose of medication to take
I do have an appointment with an endo and was told might be possible to do a biopsy Just lloking for some additional information I would greatly appraiciate any input
