Thyroid cysts and carotidynia

I recently have been diagnosed with carotidynia and at the same time found out I had two 5 mm. cysts on my thyroid.  It appears that my thyroid has grown since the last US and the cysts were previously categorized as colloid and now the report says that they are septated.  What is septated thyroid cysts? and is there any correlation between thyroid problems and carotidynia?
Thanks.

septated means multiple components of walled-off cyst fluid.  Not necessarily related to thyroiditis.

What are septated thyroid cysts and do they have any relevance to thyroiditis?

Would not worry about colloid vs septated - probably different radiologists describing the same thing.  This is unrelated to the carotidynia and I recommend yearly ultrasound to make sure the cysts (or ?nodules) do not enlarge to >1cm when they would be considered for fine needle aspiration.
