Thyroid medication and dosage

OK, this is a long story. My thyroid levels came back showing both hypo and hyper in Nov. of last year. I was put on very low dose of Cytomel (12.5 mcg) to see if it could get regulated. After blood work my doctor's office called and said they were calling me in a different dosage. Last week I found out I have a pituitary tumor and that I never should have been put on Cytomel because if anything, I was a little hyper but not hypo. Also, somewhere there was a miscommunication between my dr's office and the pharmacy and instead of giving me 10 mcg a day they gave me 100 mcg a day. Obviously my whole system went out of whack and my doctor told me on Monday to get off the Cytomel. Should I have done this gradually? He didn't say to and tonight I just feel really weird. When I try to go to sleep, it feels like my heart is taking it's sweet time with heartbeat. Before, because my dosage was so high I was flying all the time. I was shaking, sweating, dropping stuuf, walking into stuff, forgetful, it was a mess. Is this normal going off the Cytomel that I would be feeling this huge slowing down all of a sudden? I feel like my heartbeat is just going to stop. I don't really know how to explain it. I've tried to find somewhere symptoms of jumping off the Cytomel too fast, but can't find any. Can anyone help? I feel like I'm going crazy whether I am on it or not!!

The TSH you mention of 10.39 shows the eltroxin dose was not enough -- appropriate that it was increased to 0.15mg/day.  Would continue to titrate the medication until the TSH gets to around the 1.0-2.5 range then re-evaluate how she feels.  This should address the hypothyroid issues for most patients in her situation.

Her symptoms may not be due to thyroid, so it is important to normalize the TSH, re-evaluate, then continue to search for causes of symptoms.  When one is on multiple medications and has several different medial problems, isolating the cause of symptoms is often difficult.
