Thyroid results

I have been gaining weight without eating more, very tired, take naps during the day, eyes are puffy, sweating during the day and night sweats and my legs have been swelling every day for the past at least 6 months.  I recently had blood taken.  The results are as follows:
  TSH 1.366; Thyroxine (T4) 4.3; T3 uptake 29 and free thyroxine index 1.2.
My cholesterol is 345; triglycerides 136; hdl 90; ldl 228.

Should I be concerned?
I would appreciate any light you could shed on this subject.
Thank you.

Your thyroid appears normal, but all labs have different reference ranges for T4 and FTI - so double check they are in range -- if they are not, then retest TSH along with Free T4 and Free T3.  If the TSH is still around 1-1.5 and the Free T4 and T3 are both low then you may have a rare condition of secondary hypothyroidism -- ie, a pituitary problem.

The LDL is very high and needs consideration for treatment.

How is your diet? What foods do you eat? Your thyroid is normal - lucky! - but your cholesterol numbers are very high.... There might be an underlying syndrome that we are not thinking about now. Was your doctor concerened about your cholesterol results? I am surprised that they did not put you on Lipitor yet!
