TNT, I thought I would start a new heading, the one we were on was filling up.
I don't know much about the flouride issue but have only heard that excess amounts over a long period of time can affect thyroid function.
Has your Dr. ever given you any suggestions of what your symptoms may be from or if he thinks it is thyroid related? Pre-menopause and menopause can cause symptoms similar to thyroid and my wife reading on here with me, told me to suggest that as a possible too. I definately believe your thyroid testing might reveal something too but this other is just something to think about and maybe research a little.
I have already thought about advertising the 90-min tape on a website as you suggested and if I do, I will refer only to the web address, for people on here because that would not be personal info., and this is done a lot on here. I know several websites that would let me put it on there free.

TNT, Your symptoms are so classic for hypothyroidism. I am anxious for you to get that test done (antibodies) and the others too if possible. I'm sorry about your Dr. trouble but remember the rest of us have been having problems with them too. I can't explain the reason for this trend but it is happening just as sure as the world!
Thyroid disease in both your mom & dad is VERY strong indicator that yours is thyroid too! It is a highly inhereited condition, plus with the symptoms you described, I would be VERY surprized if it was anything else.
I hope you can get those tests soon!

I was put on an antidepressant when I went to a Dr. feeling ill and finally weaned slowly off of it when I requested my own tests and found I had hypothyroidism.
Let me say; I believe antidepressants can be very helpful to people and I personally know people who are on them and doing great.
The reason I got off of them is because my root problem was not emotionally caused, it was thyroid. I wanted treatment for it before I considered an antidepressant, so that I would not confuse thyroid symptoms with the drug side effects. Some of the antidepressant side effects are; "fatigue, lightheadedness, dizziness, sexual dysfunction, nervousness, tremour", etc....
PLEASE UNDERSTAND, I am not suggesting you quit taking the antidepressant, what I am saying is; If you find through the testing that you have hypothyroidism, you need to get treatment for it, in addition to the antidepressant because an untreated thyroid disorder can be worsened with antidepressant treatment. SSRI antidepressants can lower thyroid hormones.
Many medical sites state this but one study I can refer to in particular is one from Sept., 2004, conducted by "UCLA School of Medicine, Dept of Endocrinology" THEIR CONCLUSION: "With Antidepressant treatment, the most common change in thyroid homones is a DECREASE in T-4 and Free T-4."
That study tells me, if you have hypothyroidism, an antidepressant will make it worse if left untreated. I hope I'm not confusing you with this TNT. The main thing right now, is to get the testing you are looking into, so you'll have results and can go from there.
(ALSO: never stop an antidepressant without Dr. supervision!!!)

Sorry to hear you're feeling this bad. I'm not a Dr but, if your nodes are tender it may be a sign of infection and you should have that ruled out by a Dr...while you wait for your thryroid test to be ready. Best wishes and really hope you feel better!

i just wanted to post a comment about one of the medications i saw you were taking Topamax. I was taking that a while back and I have to say I stopped because It made me very emotional. I cried and cried all the time.. So i am not saying you should stop taking it or anything just that my experience with it was not good and medications have all kinds of side effects. Just make sure you are taking the meds because you really need them , if you have a thyroid problem and your on all these other medications it could be making you fee worse.
