Armour is a hormone derived from pig (ususally) it is natural.  Synthroid is man made.  Most doctors I have talked with prefer synthroid because they can be sure of the actual amount of T4 the patient receives.  Armour can vary per pill because it depends on the animal that produces it.

One good thing about Armour is it has T3 and T4 which our Thyroid makes both mostly T4 and our body converts it into T3.  I am taking Cytomel(T3)(which is man made) and Synthroid(T4) as a combo.  I just started 4 weeks ago and seeing great changes than from Synthriod alone.

Hope this helps I found lots of info on the internet and took it to my doctor to get where I am at now.BETH
