adrenaline surges

Hello Dr Lupo, thank you for your time.

I have been waking up every 1.5-2 hours like a rush of adrenaline surges into me. I have not had a good night sleep in 2 years. Needless to say, I am exhausted. It is not anxiety as xanax, ativan and atarax have been tried and proven useless.

What is your take on this?

Again, I'd like to thank you for your time.

I am not impressed with relying on just serum blood work for adrenals. The best and most accurate gold seal testing would be a 24 hr cortisol saliva test.

Great advice for you Peg from Dr Lupo and.....

maybe suggest to your doctor adrenal fatigue testing to rule that out.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Would have thyroid tested.  Doubt it's a pheochromocytoma (adrenaline producing tumor), but could ask your doctor about that.  If all else fails, see a sleep specialist.
