colloid cyst or adenoma

I have had 2 ct scans done and a ultrasound done of a lump in my neck. They all three come back saying something different. this last ct scan said that I have a 3mm nodule in my right lope of the thyroid. Probably a colloid cyst or a adenoma. What is that and what should the next step be in identifying whats going on?  Should I have a biopsy done?

I originally did have a ultrasound done which is what showed that the nodule I had right above my thyroid had increased in size.  Last July it was 9 x 6 mms and now it is 14x11 mms. So the DR. decided to send me to get the ct scan. The first one showed (without contrast) showed multiple minute cysts and nodule on the actual thyroid and enlarged lymph nodes throughout the neck but didn't show the nodule up above my thyroid. The DR. then decided to send me for a second CT scan but this time WITH contrast. I just got the results today which STILL didn't show the nodule up above my thyroid but did show the cyst on the right side of the thyroid lobe.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Ultrasound is more helpful than CT in characterizing nodules and cysts.  If only 3mm (not cm), would monitor.  Would see an endocrinologist to review the data and make recommendations.
