high TSH level and high T4 level for over a year

  Have been hypothyroid for 18 years taking .3 eltroxin .My Dr. gradually reduced the eltroxin to .1  10 August 2012 TSH 18.83 Free T4 25.5  was referred to  {endocrinology} he changed my eltroxin rx from .1  to .15 and said see me in 6 months, and then maybe I will give you cortisol.  On 08 March 2013 TSH 9.24 Free T4 28.3  My Family Dr. {a General Practicioner} told me to stop taking thyroid rx all together. We than discussed the possibility if I can afford it of going to a private MRI clinic out of province. He says he has never seen this before and suspects the possibility of a pituitary adenoma. Here in Saskatchewan Canada the M.R.I. wait is nearly 2 years and as far as thyroid specialist the wait is long amongst the worst in Canada .{well over a year}
I am now worried about stopping my eltroxin and am obviously now hyperthyroid yet not losing weight and get easily out of breath physically tired and latley headaches  , and I perform a physically  dangerous and technical job .
Can someone relate to this or tell me a similar situation.I have been off eltroxin 4 days.

Without FT4 lab range, hard to interpret the readings -but if both are consistently high (and T3 is high) then one could consider a pituitary problem.  This is rare, and most often situations like you describe mostly need T4 medication adjustment to bring TSH into normal range.  Would get a second endocrine opinion if possible -- consider crossing the border to expedite the workup.
